Au Pair in America Offers Custom Driving Course for Au Pairs
Nation’s Largest Au Pair Provider Partners with AAA for Custom Driving Course
Apr. 20, 2011 (Business Wire) — Au Pair in America (aupairinamerica.com), the nation’s first and largest au pair provider, announced today the launch of a custom designed driving course for au pairs, created in partnership with AAA of Southern New England.
The course, entitled Preparing to Drive in the United States, is specifically geared to au pairs and is held upon their arrival in the U.S. at Au Pair in America’s orientation site in Stamford, CT. The AAA course is one of a kind and has been tailored to the needs of the international driver and specific to the safety needs of driving children in a car.
“We are proud and thrilled to be partnering with AAA, the leader in driving safety, to offer a customized driving program,” said Ruth Ferry, Sr. Vice President and Director of Au Pair in America. “No matter how much driving experience an au pair may have, preparing to drive in a foreign country can be daunting. Host families and au pairs both benefit from this course as it focuses on child passenger safety, a number one priority of our au pairs.”
AAA of Southern New England has taken the best of several of their driving courses and adapted them to best address the transition from driving in their home country to driving in the United States. To maximize content understanding, the course utilizes the latest classroom teaching methods, mock roadways, various media and ESL techniques.
“We are delighted to offer this course to the au pairs from Au Pair in America,” said David Raposa, Director of Public Affairs for AAA of Southern New England. “The knowledge they learn from the curriculum will be invaluable when adjusting to the different rules and expectations of driving in the United States.”
Au Pair in America matches potential au pairs that meet the different criteria posed by host families. Both au pairs and families complete a thorough application and matching process to ensure the best situation for all parties.
At just $347 per week (regardless of the number of children in the family), parents can utilize the flexible program at a cost that can be less expensive than day care arrangements.
